The Perry Central boys soccer team hosted the Hazard Bulldogs last week, jumping out to an early lead and never looking back as they took the 4-1 win.
The Commodores first score came at the seven minute mark as Chris Saylor placed a long ball in the box. After several players kicked the ball, Corey Mullis picked it up in the corner and hit it into an empty net.
Midway through the period, Mullis was knocked down on his way to the goal, and was awarded a free kick from about 30 yards. Mullis put the ball just outside the goalie's reach, giving Perry Central the 2-0 lead.
With a few minutes left in the half, the Commodores got on the board again. Dylan Wooton dribbled 30 yards through the defense and placed the ball in the back of the net (3-0).
The Commodores pushed the lead to 4-0 early in the second half. Dane Mulllins scored on a breakaway goal.
Hazard picked up their only score of the game with time running out. The Bulldogs scored on a penalty kick after one of the Commodore defenders was caught on a hand ball in the box. Gary Kilburn made good on the attempt, setting the final score at 4-1.
