Agnes Jones, 91, died Thursday, Sept. 27 at Hyden Health & Rehab.
She was born January 6, 1921 in Appalachian, Va., the daughter of the late William L. Jones and the late Viola Jones, and was also preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers, a host of nephews, and longtime caretaker, Mandy Bowling.
She had been a resident of Leslie County since the 1950s and was a member of the Couch’s Fork Church of God, where she was a faithful and dedicated member serving as the piano player and director of music.
She is survived by her longtime caretaker, Logan Bowling; caretaker Audrey Blevins; extended family Rev. Logan Wayne Bowling and wife Barbara, Denise Roberts and husband Charles, Lenny Blevins, Wayne Ed Bowling and wife Billie Sue, Leah Mosley and husband Chris, Dustin Bowling, Robyn A. Blevins, Jordan and Matthew Blevins, Haley and Drew Bowling, Logan Chase Bowling and Will Rice. Also a host of other treasured friends and church family survives her passing.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, Sept. 30 at the Couch’s Fork Church of God at Bear Branch, Kentucky with Rev. Logan Wayne Bowling and Rev. Kevin Napier officiating. The interment followed in the Bowling “Crack” Family Cemetery at Wild Dog in Hollins Fork.
Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard was in charge of arrangements.
