Ruby Joseph, 63, of Viper, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the hospice care center in Hazard.
She was the daughter of the late Arthur Lewis and the late Millie Holbrook Lewis, and was also preceded in death by daughters Jennifer Johnson and Lora Jean Joseph.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Joseph; sons Johnny Joseph and wife Angie of Viper, Carl Joseph, Jr. and wife Amber of Viper; daughters Donna Hughes and husband Tony of Brownsfork, Janice Whitaker and husband Lee of Willard, April Caudill and husband Lloyd of Viper, Carla Joseph and husband Riley of Mt. Sterling, and Michelle Joseph and husband Shawn of Viper; sisters Haddie Pennington of Mt. Sterling and Lisa Lewis of Tennessee; brothers Danny Lewis of Harlan, Hobert Lewis of Tennessee, and Roy Lewis of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12. Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13 with Tim Shepherd and Junior Deaton officiating. Interment will be in the Joseph Family Cemetery in Viper.
