Hazard Rotary Club will offer $1,000 scholarships to 2013 High School graduates to attend Hazard Community and Technical College. Those eligible to apply are high school seniors from Hazard High School, Buckhorn High School, Perry County Central High School, and Cordia High School. Two scholarships will be awarded to seniors at each school. Do you have high academic standing? The Hazard Rotary Club invites you to submit an application for a scholarship for the 2013-14 school year at Hazard Community and Technical College. The scholarships can be used toward tuition.
The deadline for submission is Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012.
To apply for the scholarship please submit the following via email:
1. Your name, address, phone number
2. A statement explaining your financial need.
3. Your grade point average
3. A list of all your extra curricular activities, especially community service, in which you have been involved since your freshman year of high school.
4. A minimum of one page writing about your chosen field of study. Please write about what prompted you to choose such an area, what experiences you have had in the past.
Also, please write about the role you expect to play in the community after obtaining your education.
If you are undecided upon a major, please write about what areas of study you have ruled out for your future and why.
