After winning the 54th district volleyball tournament, the Hazard Lady Bulldogs moved on to the 14th region tournament. The Lady Bulldogs advanced to the championship game with impressive wins over the Estill County Lady Engineers and the Knott County Central Lady Patriots.

In their first match, the Lady Bulldogs took on the Estill County Lady Engineers. Hazard had little trouble in this match as they ousted Estill County in straight games 25-8, 25-7 and 25-10, putting them in the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals, Hazard took on the Lady Patriots. This would prove to be a little more difficult than their first match.

Hazard got off to a slow start, and then picked up the pace, taking game one by the score of 25-19. Knott County got into the second game, and kept the pressure high. The Lady Bulldogs, by way of a late rally, pulled off the 25-21win.

The final and deciding game would be close in the early moments, but would turn Hazard’s way. The Lady Bulldogs were able to take the match, and advance to the finals with the 25-19 win.
