Shirley Ann Knight, 74, died Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Hazard ARH medical center.
She was born November 10, 1937 in Vicco, the daughter of the late Clyde Dixon and the late Cuma Stidham Dixon, and was also preceded in death by her husband, William Sonny Knight.
She was a life-long resident of Perry County and a member of the Maple Street Church of God, and was a prayer warrior for her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Turner and husband Richard of Airport Gardens; brothers Bill Dixon and wife Jan of Happy, and Bobby Dixon and wife Jimmie Lou of Airport Gardens; sisters Wilma Jean Jones and husband Adrian of Lexington, and Mary “Pudge” Bowling and husband Paul of Richmond; grandchildren William Derek Turner and Bailey Ann Turner, both of Airport Gardens; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 24 noon at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard with Rev. Mike Smith, Fred Disney, and Greg Gillum officiating. The interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery located at Jeff. The visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
