Lois Mae Pratt Armstrong, 81, died Friday, Oct. 19 at the At. Joseph Hospice Care Center in Lexington.

She was born May 28, 1931 in Defiance, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Denver B. Pratt and the late Lillian Lyle Russell, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Shelby T. Armstrong, Sr.

She is survived sons Shelby T. Armstrong, Jr. (Tom and Fern) of Stanford, Ky., and Steven T. Armstrong (Steven and Jane) of Flemingsburg, Ky.; sisters Helen Owens and husband Paul of Lexington, and Gerry Miller of Louisville; brothers Guy Pratt and wife Jerrye of Hazard, and Denver Pratt and wife Ann of Lexington; granddaughter Crystal M. Moeller and husband Joe, along with three grandsons, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness on Paris Pike in Lexington. She was also a homemaker, and enjoyed spending time with her family, studying and sharing her Bible knowledge with others, sewing, growing flowers, and cooking.

Arrangements were handled by Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard. A private burial will be held at Camp Nelson Cemetery, Highway 27 in Jessamine County. Memorial services will be held Friday, Oct. 26 at 12:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Witnesses at 400 Kingston Road, Lexington, Kentucky, with Rod McMann Officiating.
