Odis Adams, 71, died Wednesday, Nov. 7.
He was born Jan. 22, 1941 at Slemp, the son of the late Coy and Nanny Adams. He was a lifelong resident of Perry County, where he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and ginsenging. He was a member of the Slemp Church of the Lord Jesus Christ where he served the church as an elder.
He was also preceded in death by his sons, Joey and Jeffery Adams; daughter Kathy Osborne; brother Hobilee Adams; and sister Frankie Bailey.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Adams of Slemp; sons Ricky Adams of Slemp and Rodney Dean Adams of Richmond; brothers Lester Adams of Brownsfork, Chester Adams of Delphia, Luther Adams of Letcher County, and Davis Adams of Red Bird; sisters Francis Lawson of Florida, Princess Adams of Big Branch, and Josephine Adams of Florida; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13 with Eugene Baker officiating at the Slemp Church of Lord Jesus Christ, where the family began receiving friends for visitation on Sunday evening, and continuing until the funeral hour on Tuesday afternoon. The Beechfork Cemetery located at Slemp is the place of burial.
