The Buckhorn Wildcats traveled to Whitesburg on Saturday to take on the Paintsville Tigers. The Wildcats got off to a slow start, and spent the rest of the game trying to make up the difference.
Paintsville got out of the gates fast and left Buckhorn in their wake. By the end of the first period, the Wildcats were down 20-9.
The Wildcats got things figured out in the second period, and began to play even with the Tigers. Unfortunately, it still left them down double digits at the half (33-20).
The 11 points that Buckhorn scored in the second period would stand as their total in each of the following two frames. Again, it would not be enough to chip away at the Paintsville lead as the Tigers outscored the Wildcats in each period. Buckhorn would suffer their second loss of the week as the Tigers came away with the 60-42 win.
Buckhorn (42) Cooper 1, Hoskins 14, Crank 8, Cole 2, Estep 4, Blair 5, Boggs 2, R. Stidham 2, and T. Stidham 4.
Paintsville (60) Tiller 23, M. Daniels 7, Miller 6, Daniel 2, Trimble 9, Ratliff 3, L. Daniels 2, Helton 4 and Smith 4.
