Early last week, the Perry County Central Commodores traveled to Pineville to take on the Mountain Lions. The Commodores got off to a slow start, but picked up the pace in the second period. The rally lifted them to the 69-54 win.
Neither team was able to control the tempo in the first period, and at the horn Pineville held the 12-11 lead. Perry Central found their groove in the second quarter, outscoring the Mountain Lions 24-9 in the frame. The rally sent the Commodores into the locker room with the 35-21 advantage.
Pineville took control of the game in the third period, and doubled their first half score. However, it would not be enough to erase the deficit as Perry Central went into the final period leading 50-42.
The Commodores put out the fire in the four quarter, and soon had the game on ice. Perry Central was able to coast into the 69-54 win.
