The second game of the boys’ 54th district JV tournament pitted the Buckhorn Wildcats and the Leslie County Eagles. The Eagles took a double-digit lead before the Wildcats scored, and went on to an impressive 37-14 win, knocking Buckhorn out of the tournament.
The Eagles put 14 points on the board before the Wildcats broke the ice. Buckhorn finished with a rally, and at the horn, Leslie County was on top 14-5.
Buckhorn put an end to the Leslie County rally in the second quarter, and they played to a 5-all tie. Going into the break, the Wildcats trailed 19-10.
The Eagles went back on the attack in the third period, boosting their lead to 30-14. The Wildcats failed to score in the fourth quarter, and eventually fell by the count of 37-14.
