The Perry County Central Commodores traveled to Clay County to take on the Tigers last week. The Commodores led most of the game, but gave up the lead late. They were unable to connect on the final shot, and fell 61-60.
Perry Central came out hot and jumped out to the double-digit lead at the end of the first period (18-8). At the half, the Commodores were still on top 30-25.
However, in the third period, Clay County began to make their move. The Tigers eventually took the lead, and was ahead 42-41 going into the final period.
Perry Central turned the tables in the fourth quarter, and once again took the lead. With less than a second remaining, Clay County went to the line and took the 61-60 lead.
The Commodores then threw a full-court pass at the goal. The pass was on target, but the intended receiver was knocked out of the way and the ball fell short.
