The Perry County Central Lady Commodores traveled to Jackson last Thursday to take on the Jackson City Lady Tigers. The Lady Commodores were looking for their first victory on the young season, and it took only five innings for the Lady Commodores to pick up the 11-0 win.
Perry Central picked up a pair of runs in the first inning, but went silent in the second inning (2-0). The Lady Commodores picked up another pair in the third to bring their tally to four (4-0).
The big blow came in the fourth inning when the Lady Commodores doubled their score with four runs in the frame (8-0). Perry Central ended the game in the fifth inning with three runs, bringing the final score to 11-0.
Whitney Back led the way for the Lady Commodores, picking up the win on the mound with 13 strikeouts in five innings of work. Back also had four hits, six RBI and an inside the park home run.
