The Hazard Bulldogs traveled to Belfry to take on the Pirates this past weekend, saving all their offense until the sixth inning, but it would be enough for 2-1 win.

Belfry picked up a single run in the fourth inning, and held the lead until the sixth when Hazard sank their hopes of winning the game.

The Bulldogs’ rally was started when Austin Johnson got on board with a single. Johnson was moved over by a single off the bat of JT Haynes. Johnson would score on an error, while Haynes would touch the plate after a hit by Griffin Wells.

Griffin Wells got the win on the mound, picking up 10 strikeouts and only one walk along the way.

Hazard stats: Austin Johnson 1 run and 2 hits, JT Haynes 1 run and 1 hit, Griffin Wells 1 hit and 1 RBI and Jordan Olinger 1hit.
