On Saturday, the Perry County Central Commodores hosted the Buckhorn Wildcats. The Wildcats got on the board first, while the Commodores would have to come from behind to collect the win.
The game was scoreless until the third inning. The Wildcats collected five runs in the inning. Perry Central struggled to plate a single run in the bottom of the frame, bringing the score to 5-1.
The Commodores, however, were able to make up the difference in the fourth inning as they plated four runs and tied the game at five. The winning runs came across the plate for the Commodores in the sixth inning. Perry Central managed three runs in the frame, setting the final score at 8-5.
Richard Stidham got the loss for Buckhorn, going the distance with six hits, eight runs, four walks and six strikeouts. Derrick Luttrell got the win for Perry Central, going five innings with one hit, two runs, three walks and and strikeouts. Evan Hurt worked two innings with one hit, three runs, four walks and two strikeouts.
