Perry Central’s boys’ basketball team is without a coach after Kevin Spurlock announced his departure from the program via Twitter on Wednesday.
Spurlock spent one year as coach of the Commodores, leading Perry Central to a championship in the 54th District and a runners-up in the 14th Region. Perry Central finished the season with a 26-8 record.
Spurlock did not give a reason for leaving the coach’s job, noting in his tweets that he intended to keep the details private.
Perry County Superintendent Jonathan Jett was not available for comment late Wednesday afternoon.
