Virginia Lee Crase, 83, passed away on Wednesday, July 3 at her residence in Bulan.
She was the owner of Crase Grocery and the daughter of the late Jasper Hurt and the late Evalee Mullins Hurt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Crase; sister Louise Combs; brother Bobby Hurt; and grandson Robbie Crase.
She is survived by her son, Robert Crase and wife Linda of Bulan; brother Dr. Jimmy Hurt of Louisville; grandchildren Jamie Crase and wife Brandy, and Gwen Gouge and husband Calvin of Norton; great-grandchildren Jonathon, Jessica, Jennalee, Bryan, Jonah, and Slim; along with a host of family and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m., with additional services at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 5. Services will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 6 with Rob Paddock and Chris Fugate officiating. Interment will be at Balis Napier Cemetery at Lotts Creek.
