The Hazard Lady Bulldogs opened their 2013 soccer season this week, finishing the week with a 2-1 record. The Lady Bulldogs opened with a 3-0 loss to Prestonsburg at home, and followed that with back-to-back wins over Whitley County and Shelby Valley.
Hazard opened their season with the Prestonsburg Lady Blackcats, which had been rescheduled. The Lady Bulldogs came up on the short end of the score.
The Lady Bulldogs then traveled to Whitley County where they came away with a 3-1 win. Amanda Asher scored a pair of goals for the Lady Bulldogs, while Tiffany Combs added their other. Keshia Hamblin picked up an assist.
In their final game of the week, Hazard traveled to Sheldon Clark to take on the Lady Cardinals. Lady Bulldog goalie Hannah Webb threw the shutout, while the offense put four goals on the board.
Carmen Shepherd picked up the hat-trick, scoring three goals. Keshia Hamblin added the fourth. Hamblin also had a pair of assists in the game, while Amanda Asher and McKenzie Bowling each had an assist.
