Lady Bulldogs fall in All ‘A’ finals

The Hazard Lady Bulldog volleyball team traveled to Lee County to participate in the 14 region All “A” tournament on Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs breezed through the first two games, but ran into a strong Leslie County team in the finals.

The Lady Bulldogs opened play with the Buckhorn Lady Wildcats. Hazard had little trouble disposing of Buckhorn as the match lasted but two games. The Lady Bulldogs collected 25-7 and 25-13 wins.

In the second match, Hazard was paired with the Wolfe County Lady Wolves. Again, the opponents offered little resistance to the Lady Bulldogs. Hazard moved into the finals with identical 25-7 wins.

Hazard took on Leslie County in the finals. The Lady Bulldogs fought hard in the first game, but came up short 25-23.

In the second game, the Lady Bulldogs were able to get on top and stay on top. Hazard forced a tie breaker with the 25-12 win.

The deciding game did not go the Lady Bulldogs’ way as the Lady Eagles fought their way back to take the 25-23 win.
