The Perry County Central Lady Commodores played a pair of games this past week and came away with the split. They opened the week at Whitley County and concluded at Letcher Central.
Early in the week, the Lady Commodores traveled to Whitley County where they would jump out to an early lead and clamp down on the defensive end.
Everything went the Lady Commodores’ way as they led from start to finish, collecting the 7-0 win. Kelsey Lowe had an outstanding game for Perry Central, scoring all seven of the Lady Commodores’ goals. Brooke Campbell assisted on five of the goals, while Whitley Gordon added an assist.
Late in the week, the Lady Commodores traveled to Whitesburg to take on the Letcher Central Lady Cougars. The game went into overtime to decide the outcome.
Brooke Campbell scored the first goal of the game on a penalty kick. Letcher Central would later tie the game, forcing an overtime period. The Lady Cougars got the game winner in the extra period, giving them the win and giving Perry Central the split of the week’s games.
