The Perry County Central Commodores hosted the Estill County Engineers in soccer action on Saturday. The first time these two teams hooked up, the game ended in a tie.
The Engineers scored the only goal of the first half, giving them the 1-0 lead at the break. Just a few seconds into the second half, the Commodores were able to get on the board. Jacob Farris took a pass off the foot of Logan Spencer, and deposited in the bottom corner of the net.
With only a few minutes left in the game, Estill County struck again. The Engineers got a breakaway and hammered one pass the goalie (2-1).
As the game was coming to a close, the Commodores were tackled just outside the box, giving them a free kick. The Engineer goalie batted down the shot, but no one covered the rebound. Perry Central’s Tate Wyrick alertly went to the ball for a wide open shot at goal (2-2).
Neither team was able to get a goal in the remaining time, leaving the game in a tie for the second time this season.
