The Perry County Central Lady Commodores last week finished a soccer game with the Letcher Central Cougars that was started a couple of weeks ago. The Commodores were able to hold off a determined Letcher Central team for the 2-1 win.
A couple of weeks ago, the teams’ soccer game was called to a halt in the 14th minute due to lightning. This week, the game was resumed.
Brecken Harvey scored the only goal of the first part of the game. Letcher Central was able to score on a breakaway goal with 10 minutes remaining in the first half.
With five minutes left in the first half, Logan Spencer received a penalty kick after a foul was called in the box. Spencer made good on the attempt, giving the Commodores the 2-1 lead.
Neither team would find the net in the second half, and Perry Central claimed the 2-1 win. The Commodores outshot the Cougars 7-2 in the game.
