The East Perry Lady Miners and the Chavies Lady Cardinals took to the hardwood with the final spot in the championship game on the line. The Lady Miners took the early lead, and kept the pressure high until the final horn, giving them the spot in the championship game.
Both teams started slowly, with East Perry picking up the pace late in the first period. At the horn, the Lady Miners held the 9-4 lead.
The momentum carried over to the second period as East Perry began to pull away. Going into the intermission, the Lady Miners were on top 22-10.
The third period proved to be a carbon copy of the second as the Lady Miners outscored the Lady Cardinals 13-6 once again (35-16). Try as them might, Chavies could not break East Perry’s hold on the lead in the fourth quarter. The Lady Miners moved into the championship game with the 47-20 win.
