In the second round of the WYMT tournament, the Hazard Bulldogs took on the host Knott Central Patriots. The Bulldogs and the Patriots hooked up in a classic battle that went down to the wire, with Hazard’s Josh Hollan hitting a buzzer beater for the win.
Knott Central held the early advantage with Hazard taking the momentum late in the first period. The Patriots held the 13-10 lead at the end of the first period.
The Bulldogs continued to hold the momentum early in the second period, and eventually took the lead. However, the Patriots would not be denied and slipped back into the lead. Hazard’s Griffin Wells hit a three-pointer at the horn, sending the Bulldogs into the locker room trailing 23-25.
Hazard upped the defensive pressure in the third period, and once again was in the driver’s seat. Going into the final period, the Bulldogs led 36-33.
