Last week, the Buckhorn Wildcats took on the Oneida Baptist Institute Mountaineers. The Wildcats jumped out to a sizable lead early, and held on for the 20-point win.
Buckhorn was able to use their defense to create instant offense in the first period, giving them the 29-15 lead at the horn. The Wildcats’ offense dropped off slightly in the second period, but they continued to lead (49-30) at the break.
OBI’s offense got on track in the third period, and they were able to cut into the Buckhorn lead. However, the Wildcats still sat on a 67-51 lead going into the final period.
The Wildcats were able to keep their opponents at bay in the fourth quarter, and went on to the 89-69 win. Connor Hoskins led the way for Buckhorn with 20 points.
