The Perry County Central Lady Commodores and the Hazard Lady Bulldog kicked off the 54th district tournament on Monday. The two teams had met twice in the regular season, with the Lady Commodores make a sweep of the games.
The Lady Bulldogs game ready to play on this night, and kept pace with the Lady Commodores in the first quarter. Perry Central could muster but a two-point lead (22-20) at the end of the first period.
The pace would slow in the second period, with Perry Central increasing their lead slightly. The Lady Commodores went into the locker room with the 34-26 advantage.
Little changed in the third period as the Lady Commodores continued to inch ahead. With eight minutes remaining in the game, the Lady Bulldogs needed to make up 13 points (46-33).
Perry Central turned up the heat in the final period, and put the game out of reach early. The Lady Commodores season continued as they collected the 65-42 win.
