Hazard crushes Leslie in opening round

The Hazard Bulldogs and the Leslie County Eagles opened the boys’ 54th district tournament. The Bulldogs left no doubt as to the outcome of the game as they jumped all over the Eagles early, and cruised to the 82-40 win.

The Bulldogs’ defense set the tone early as they converted multiple turnovers into transition points. Hazard ended the first quarter with the 30-13 lead, and went into the break with the 58-26 advantage.

Just moments into the third period, Hazard set the continuous clock in motion, giving the Bulldogs the opportunity to get their entire bench into the game. They ended the third period with the 75-34 lead, and went on to win the game by the final count of 82-40 win.
