The Hazard Bulldogs took on the Wolfe County Wolves in the semifinals of the boys’ 14th region tournament. The Bulldogs had little trouble with the Wolves as they rolled into the finals with the 93-71 win.
The Bulldogs set the tone early as their offense sprung into action, while their defense was stellar. Hazard jumped out to the 20-6 lead at the first horn.
Wolfe County’s offense awoke in the second period, but could not erase their deficit. Hazard was able to stay on top 45-29 at the break.
The pace remained fast in the third period as the Wolves tried to get back into the contest. However, the Bulldogs stayed in the driver’s seat, and went into the final period with the 75-56 lead.
With the game on ice, the Bulldogs went deep into their bench to finish the game. Hazard was able to roll into the finals with the 93-71 win.
