Hazard stops Jackson City in shortened game

Early in the week, the Hazard Lady Bulldog softball team traveled to Jackson City to take on the Lady Tigers. The Lady Bulldogs used a steady offense and a stellar defense to end the game 11-1 in five innings.

The Hazard offense was mildly productive in the first couple of innings, scoring two in the first and one in the second (3-0). In the third inning, the Lady Bulldogs exploded for six runs to bring their lead to 9-0.

The only inning in which Hazard did not score saw Jackson City get their lone run (9-1). The Lady Bulldogs brought the game to an end in the fifth inning as they scored two (11-1), and held off the Lady Tigers, ending the game .

Chandler Maggard got the win on the mound, going five innings with 2 hits, 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.
