Last week, the Hazard Bulldogs hosted the Belfry Pirates. The game was close throughout, with the Pirates edging the Bulldogs 9-7.
Belfry took the 1-0 lead in the second inning, but allowed Hazard to tie the game in the third inning. The majority of the game’s scoring, and the difference in the game, occurred in the fourth inning.
The Pirates opened up the game (8-1) with seven runs in the frame. The Bulldogs would answer with five runs in the bottom of the inning, bring the tally to 6-8.
Both teams would score a single run down the stretch, giving Belfry the 9-7 win.
