According to court records, Carlos Lamar Robinson, 20, of Dayton, and Tajh Eugene Barton, 20, also of Dayton, entered guilty pleas to an amended charge of sexual misconduct, a Class A misdemeanor, on February 24.
During a pretrial conference that day, a plea deal was announced that would have the men sentenced to 12 months, while 231 days of that time would be served, with the remainder served as supervised probation for 24 months. Other conditions of the agreement will have the men testify truthfully in other cases, stay away from the victim, and not return to Perry County.
Robinson and Barton were each indicted on one count of first-degree sodomy after authorities said they and four other men – Doyne Shane Glass of Miamisburg, Ohio; James Wayne Devoe of Lewistown, Ohio; Leslie George Ivory of Dayton; and Terry James Bolin of Cincinnati – engaged is sexual intercourse with a female at the Super 8 Motel without her consent and while she was passed out on September 24 of last year. Glass, Devoe, and Bolin are each charged with first-degree rape, while Ivory is charged with first-degree rape and one count of tampering with physical evidence after police said he cleaned the alleged victim off in an attempt to remove evidence before leaving her at a different hotel in Hazard where she was discovered by an employee the next morning.
Robinson and Barton are due back in court for a status hearing on May 13. The jury trial for each of the four remaining men in the case is also set for May 13 in Perry Circuit Court.
