The Commodores came out a little apprehensive due to last week's control issues. On their very first snap of the ball, Perry Central set Knott Central up with good field position with a fumble. However, the Patriots would not take advantage.
On their next possession, Perry Central began to make things happen. Kyle Huff hit Darryl Beatty with a short pass that went 41 yards and ended with a touchdown (6-0).
After a good defensive stand, and a short punt, the Commodores scored again. This time on a 9-yard run by Kyle Huff (12-0).
The Commodores closed out the first period with a touchdown as Kyle Huff hit Darryl Beatty again. This time for 45-yards and a touchdown (18-0).
Perry Central wrapped an entire game's worth of scoring into the second period, scoring 39 points on five touchdowns and a pair of safeties. Darryl Beatty opened the period with his third touchdown of the evening. The play went 11 yards, and after John Sizemore ran in the conversion Perry Central had the 26-0 lead.
Perry Central's defense held strong on the next series, forcing Knott Central to punt. The snap went to the end zone, where Kegan Robinson tackled the punter for the safety (28-0).
Kyle Huff found a different target for the Commodores' next touchdown. This time, Huff hit Austin Pray on a short route, and Pray ran up the gut for a 41-yard score. The conversion attempt was no good, but was made up for on the next series as Kegan Robinson fell on a botched punt in the end zone for his second safety (36-0).
Perry Central started their next possession deep in Knott Central territory as Eric Miller returned an interception to the “red zone.” John Sizemore finished off the drive with an 11-yard run, setting the tally at 43-0.
The Commodores quickly went back to the air for their next touchdown. Austin Pray pulled down a high pass and turned away from the defense for a 25-yard score (49-0) and the continuous clock.
Perry Central added one more touchdown before the horn on a Jay White 34-yard catch and run. John Sizemore added the conversion for 57-0 halftime lead.
There was no scoring in the third period, sending the game to the third quarter with the Commodores still leading 57-0. Perry Central picked up one touchdown in the fourth quarter, giving them the 63-0 advantage.
When the Commodore drive stalled, Coach Haddix decided to go for the 34-yard field goal, but the snap was botched. Holder Austin Pray picked up the ball and ran through the Patriot defense to the crib for the score (63-0).
Knott County was able to avoid the shutout as time was about to expire. With only a handful of ticks left on the clock, Wes Huff hit Jarred Waddles in the end zone for the 21-yard touchdown. They added the conversion to place the final count at 63-8.
