The week’s county tournament started with a 6th grade game as the East Perry Miners took on the Leatherwood Wildcats. The Wildcats took the early lead, but could not hold on in the second half as they were eliminated by the Miners 35-23.


The two teams struggled for control in the early going, with Leatherwood taking the 9-8 lead at the horn. East Perry found their offense late in the second period, and went into the locker room sitting on a 17-15 lead.

The Miner exploded in the third period, giving them the 32-17 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Wildcats could not stave off elimination as East Perry moved on in the tournament with the 35-23 win.
