MAN — START (Seniors Taking Active Rolls Today) members and guests arriving for the September meeting at Bruce McDonald Memorial United Methodist Church were greeted with a picnic atmosphere. Tables were adorned with red-checked table clothes with peck baskets full of delicious fall apples for centerpieces. Catered by Mrs. Beulah Lusk, the fare included fried chicken, various salads, baked beans, hot dogs, and hamburgers with all the “fixings”. Chocolate, white and strawberry cake was enjoyed for desert.

Celebrating birthdays in September were Marie Cook, Shirley Greene, Jane Grimmette, Mary Ruth Hale, Dr. Rico Rallos, and Elaine Thompson.

Officiating as President for the first time, Gretchen Donahue made several announcements of activities that were of interest to START members: The Logan County levy election will be held Sat., Oct. 26.
