Wildcats fall to Braves in OT

The Buckhorn Wildcats ended their Walton Sun Blowout tournament the same way they started, with the Braves. This time it would be the Braves from Mount Zion, Illinois.
The Wildcats would spend the first half of the game digging themselves into a hole. At the end of the first period, Buckhorn was down 14-7, and they went into the half down 35-22.
The tide would turn in the second half as the momentum swung toward Buckhorn. The Wildcats won each frame by the same margin as the frames of the first half, forcing an overtime period (54-54).
However, the overtime period would not be kind to the Wildcats as they went ice cold from the floor. Buckhorn came up short 67-59, evening their tournament record at 2-2.
James Blair led the Wildcats in scoring with 25 points.
Buckhorn (59) Connor Hoskins 13 (9 rebounds), James Blair 25 (7 rebounds and 3 steals), Ryan Boggs 10 (6 rebounds), Caleb Estep 2 (5 rebounds), Josh Crank 9 (4 rebounds), Peyton Cooper (3 assists and 6 steals), and Dylan Cole (4 rebounds).
