The Perry Central Commodores took on the high octane Lawrence County Bulldogs in the second round of the WYMT tournament. The game turned into a track meet with the Commodores out running the Bulldogs 67-59.


Perry Central struggled with the Lawrence County pressure early in the game, but still managed to out score their opponent 17-14. The second period saw both teams up the tempo in order to take advantage of the other’s weaknesses. The Commodores won the battle, and went into the locker room up 35-30.

The Bulldogs had to regroup in the third period, with the Commodores pulling ahead 54-41. Lawrence County went back on the attack in the fourth quarter, pulling out all the stops. They were able to get close by putting Perry Central on the free throw line, but the Commodores were able to hit just enough down the stretch to preserve the 67-59 win.
