The Buckhorn Lady Wildcats hooked up with the Jenkins Lady Cavaliers in the semifinals of the All “A” tournament. The Lady Wildcats controlled the contest until the very end, when a couple of errors caused them to fall from the tournament.

Buckhorn put up a valiant effort in the opening frame, keeping Jenkins from pulling away. The Lady Cavaliers hit a couple of big shots late in the period, and put the Lady Wildcats down 20-14 at the horn.

The second period would belong to the Lady Wildcats as they pushed the tempo to a frenzied pace. Not only did Buckhorn erase their deficit, they went into the intermission with the 40-37 advantage.

The third period went back-and-forth, with each team taking control of the tempo. However, the period would end with the Lady Wildcats trailing 54-55.

Buckhorn would jump back in the lead during much of the fourth quarter, as they were able to make good on their free throws. With a handful of ticks left on the clock, Jenkins was able to wrestle away the lead, spurred on by their defense.

The Lady Cavaliers would then seal the win from the free throw line, knocking the Lady Wildcats from the tournament with the 74-70 win.

Buckhorn (70) Kansas Rice 24, Madison Couch 22, Autumn Neace 8, LaVaughn Henson 12 and Hanna Gabbard 4.

Jenkins (74) Boggs 22, Yonts 6, Sexton 12 and Creech 34.
