On Saturday, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores took on the Knott Central Lady Patriots as part of the Swing Break tournament. The Lady Commodores put together a strong fifth inning to upend the Lady Patriots 7-1.


Perry Central opened the game with a single run in the first inning. The Lady Commodores sat on that lead until the fourth inning when they were able to tack another run on to their tally (2-0).


The big blow came in the fifth inning when Perry Central erased a lone run by Knott Central with a five run frame (7-1). Knott Central was unable to rally in their final at bat, and Perry Central came away with the 7-1 win.


Perry Central (7) Mahala Walker 2 runs; Katie Pigman 1 run and 1 hit; Rachel Curry 1 run, 1 hit, and 1 RBI; Lana Shepherd 1 run, 1 hit, and 2 RBI; Lauryn Amburgey 2 runs and 1 hit; and Madisson Minks 2 hits and 1 RBI.
