Last week, the Hazard-Perry Orange (9- and 10-year-olds) took on the all-stars from Harlan. The Orange needed but four inning to rout their opponents 22-2.


Hazard-Perry started slowly, scoring two runs in the first inning and four in the second frame (6-0). They then exploded for eight runs in the third inning, which was countered by a pair by Harlan (14-2). Hazard-Perry then closed out the game with another eight run spot in the fourth inning (22-2). They win put the Orange into district play with an undefeated record.


Hazard-Perry Orange (22) Wyatt Hensley 2 hits and 3 runs; Matt Goins 1 run; Mason McAlarnis 1 hit (HR) and 2 runs; Jayden Bailey 1 hit and 3 runs; Logan Thomas 2 hits and 3 runs; Andrew Combs 2 hits and 3 runs; Hank Pelfrey 3 hits and 4 runs; and Max Johnson 3 hits and 4 runs.


Harlan (2) Isaac Kelly 1 run; Bryce Helton 1 hit; and Gavin Powers 1 run.
