Last Thursday, the Hazard Bulldog football team traveled to London to take on the North Laurel Jaguars in the season’s last scrimmage. Both teams were looking to get in a solid workout before the season begins.
The Bulldogs began with a 10-play sequence in which they were able to score a couple of touchdowns. The Jaguars also scored a couple of times as well.
After a short break, the scrimmage went to a live-action format where they had to complete a first down to keep the drive alive. Hazard was once again able to get into the end zone on a couple of drives, as did North Laurel.
All in all, it was a very successful evening as the Bulldogs were able to get some playing time for the more inexperienced players be for the regular season begins. Hazard will hit the field for the first time this season in the Pike County Bowl. They will take on Pikeville at Belfry on Aug. 30 at 8:30 p.m.
