HAZARD—A Perry County man is in jail this week facing allegations that he sexually abused an 11-year-old girl.
Tony Caudill, 33, of Floyd Drive, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant on Oct. 4 at the justice center in Hazard, according to a citation filed in the Perry District Clerk’s Office this week. He is charged with first-degree sexual abuse of a victim under 12 years of age.
The case is being investigated by Vicki Day with the Kentucky State Police, who alleges on the warrant that Caudill subjected the girl to sexual contact on three occasions on Aug. 1, 2011. Day also notes that Caudill “admitted to the offenses.”
Caudill made his initial court appearance in district court on Monday for arraignment, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 15, at which time his case could be sent to the grand jury for consideration of an indictment.
He is currently lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard on a $50,000 bond.
