CORNETTSVILLE—Perry County sheriff’s deputies have arrested two people in relation to a break-in at a local liquor store on Thursday.
According to a press release from the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a complaint of an early morning break-in at the Blue Goose Liquor Store in Cornettsville. Upon arrival, deputies found that subjects had gained forcible entry, had done thousands of dollars worth of damage, and stolen several hundred dollars worth of liquor and cigarettes.
Austin Salley, 18, and Edward Hampton, 28, both of Cornettsville, were arrested Thursday night after deputies were able to positively identify them after looking at store surveillance footage of the incident, and later confessed to the crimes. Deputies also say they found an “indoor marijuana grow” at the residence Salley and Hampton were found at.
Salley and Hampton are being held at the Kentucky River Regional jail, and have been charged with one count each third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking from a building over $500, tampering with physical evidence, and cultivating marijuana less than five plants
