A Perry County man accused of setting fire to a residence leads the indictments from the month of May.


Ruben Holland, 58, of Bonnyman, was indicted on one count first-degree arson. Allegedly, in April, Holland started a fire with the intent to destroy or damage a residence occupied by Derek and Joyce Mullins. A $75,000 cash bond was set in the case.


In an unrelated case, Vicki Cross, 21, of Hazard, was indicted this month on one count second-degree assault and one count first-degree escape. On or about February 24, Cross allegedly assaulted a deputy jailer while being taken from the courthouse, and attempted to flee, causing serious physical injury to the jailer.


Buford Noble, 25, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of willfully setting fire on land not owned or controlled by himself and one count of first-degree wanton endangerment. Allegedly, Noble set fire to weeds on land he did not own or lease in April, subsequently causing the hill to catch fire, creating substantial danger or serious physical injury or death to more than 10 different people. Bail was set at $30,000 cash in the case.


Sally Renee Embry, 26, of Hazard, was also indicted in this case on one count third-degree assault and one count first-degree escape. Bail was set at $50,000 each in this case.


Christopher Allen Powers, 29, of Slemp, was indicted on four counts of possession of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor. Allegedly, on or about July 2011, Powers was found to be in possession of pictures depicting an actual sexual performance by a minor, with knowledge of its content and character, and that the sexual performance was by a minor on at least three other occasions. Bail was set at $30,000 cash.


Charles S. Deborde, 36, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of first degree possession of a controlled substance and one count buying or possessing drug paraphernalia. A $20,000 cash bond was set in the case.


Also indicted was 21-year-old Justin Lewis, of Viper. Lewis was indicted on two counts attempting to or obtaining a controlled substance by fraud when he obtained a prescription for neurotin at CVS in someone else’s name on two separate occasions earlier this year. Bail was set at $20,000 cash in this case.


Billy McBride, 38, of Hazard, was indicted on one count first-degree possession of a controlled substance, one count of first-degree promoting contraband, one count of illegal possession of a legend drug, and one count of prescription drugs not in the proper container. Bail was set at $25,000 cash.


Justin Otis, and Melissa Amburgey, 27, both of Vicco, were indicted on one count each of receiving stolen property over $500 after allegedly receiving a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee in January, knowing it to have been stolen. Bail was set at $20,000 in each case.


Connie Combs, 48, of Fisty, was indicted on one count of no registration plates, one count of no registration receipt, one count of no operator’s license, one count of operating on a suspended or revoked license, one count of failure to produce insurance card, one count of failure to maintain required insurance, one count of failure to register transfer of motor vehicle, one count of prescription drugs not in the proper container, and one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.


David I. Ruiz, 27, of Hazard, was indicted on one count second-degree assault. A $50,000 cash bond was set in the case.


Also indicted was 37-year-old David Ambrose, of Hazard. Ambrose was indicted on one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, one count of second-degree possession of a controlled substance, one count of third-degree possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, one count of prescription drugs not in the proper container, and one count of resisting arrest. Bail was set at $20,000 cash in the case.


Kenneth Cornett, 35, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of second-degree assault. Bail was set at $50,000 in the case.


Bradley Asher, 33, of Combs, was indicted on one count of second-degree escape. A $20,000 cash bond was set in the case.


Laster C. Daniel, 25, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, one count of tampering with physical evidence, one count of third-degree assault, one count of buying or possessing drug paraphernalia, one count of menacing, one count of second-degree disorderly conduct, and one count resisting arrest. A $25,000 cash bond was set in the case.


Bobby Sizemore, Jr., 56, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of attempting to or obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and one count of criminal possession of a forged prescription. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.


Douglas Combs, 49, of Viper, and James Combs, 50, of Hazard, were indicted on one count each of theft of a motor vehicle registration plate, after allegedly stealing a vehicle registration plate that belonged to Everage Auto Sales in April. Bail was set at $20,000 each in the case.


Alfred Trent, 38, of Vicco, was indicted on one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance. A $20,000 cash bond was set in the case


Dustin Mullins, 32, of Vicco, was indicted on one count of second-degree escape. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.


Boyd Campbell, 26, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of flagrant non-support. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.


Keith M. Engle, 36, of Ary, was also indicted on one count of flagrant non-support. A $20,000 cash bond was set in that case.
