VICCO—The search for a missing Perry County man ended this weekend after he was found dead in his car in the Vicco community of Perry County.
Kentucky State Police responded to Georges Branch Road after dispatchers received a call that deputies with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office had found a body in a car that was found over an embankment.
Coy David Banks, 62, of Vicco, was found in the 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier, which had been travelling eastbound on a mining road just off of Georges Branch Road.
According to a press release from KSP, it appeared that Banks had been driving the car when he lost control and travelled over the embankment, overturning the car. Banks was partially ejected from the vehicle, and did not appear to be wearing a seat belt.
Banks had been reported missing by his wife on Wednesday, July 2.
Trooper Issac Whitaker and Detective Chris Collins with KSP Post 13 are continuing this investigation, though no foul play is suspected in this incident.
