by Tony McGuire — Sports Editor
Area football teams are scheduled to start their preseason this week. The Hazard Bulldogs and the Perry County Central Commodores will hit the field running in hopes of tweaking their game for the upcoming season.
The Hazard Bulldogs will not play on week zero, giving them the opportunity to play a pair of scrimmage games. This week, the Bulldogs will host the Whitley County Colonels, and the following week they will host the Belfry Pirates.
Hazard will begin their regular season the 31st of August with the Pikeville Panthers in the Pike County Bowl.
The Perry County Central Commodores will begin the season on a new field. The Commodores will start week zero with the Clay County Tigers at home.
The Commodores will play but one scrimmage game due to the early start to the season. Perry Central will travel to Pikeville to take on the Panthers on the 16th of August.
