The Perry County Central Lady Commodores played a pair of soccer games against the Belfry Lady Pirates last week. The Lady Commodores took the game on the road 5-2, and finished the sweep with the 5-0 win.

The Lady Commodores opened on the road. Perry Central took the early lead, but could not keep Belfry off the board.

Although the first half remained close, Perry Central opened up the game in the second half. The Lady Commodores finished strong, taking the 5-2 win.

The Lady Commodores then finished their week with their second game with the Lady Pirates. This would be all Perry Central from the beginning.

Perry Central would get on the board midway through the first half (1-0). The Lady Commodores would get one more goal before the half, finishing with a 2-0 lead.

Belfry picked up the pace in the second half, but the Perry Central defense would put a lid on the goal. Lady Commodore goalie BreAnna Begley stopped several shots, while the defense closed off the passing lanes.

In the meantime, Perry Central’s offense continued to add to their lead. The Lady Commodores tacked on three more goals down the stretch, giving them the 5-0 win and the sweep of the regular season series.
