The Perry Central Commodores traveled to Johnson Central last week for a battle between two of the top teams in the mountains. The Commodores took the early lead, and never looked back as they grounded the Eagles 66-54.
The first period went back and forth with the Commodores pulling out the 17-13 lead. Several Perry Central players went to the bench with foul trouble in the second period, but they managed to go into the break with the 33-27 advantage.
Scoring was at a premium in the third period, but once again the Commodores came out on top, giving them the 45-38 lead going into the final frame. Perry Central saved their best offensive performance for last, allowing them to collect the 66-54 win.
Braxton Beverly led the way with 26 points, while Justin Johnson had 16 rebounds in limited time.
