The Perry County Central Commodores opened their defense of the WYMT Mountain Classic title with the Bell County Bobcats. The Commodores had little trouble with the Bobcats, but did lose point-guard Braxton Beverly for an undetermined time.


Perry Central opened the game on fire and by the end of the first period, they had jumped out to a 20-9 lead. Bell County picked up the pace in the second period (evening the scoring), but still went into the break trailing Perry Central 34-21.

Perry Central pushed the margin to over 20 points on several occasions during the second half, with Bell County chipping away with mini runs. The Commodores finished the third period with the 53-37 lead, and ended the game with the 64-46 win.
