Early last week, the Hazard Bulldogs hit the road for their only game of the week. The Bulldogs traveled to Jackson to take on the always tough Bobcats of Breathitt County.
The two teams opened up with a higher than normal tempo, hoping to set the tempo to their liking. The Bobcats got the better of the exchange, as they ended the period with the 15-12 lead.
Hazard was able to slow the tempo in the second period, and make Breathitt County work out of their half-court set. The strategy worked as they headed to the locker room with the 22-21 advantage.
Neither team was will to give an quarter in the third period as a couple of bucket lead was the norm. Going into the final period, the Bobcats were up 35-34.
The Bulldogs exploded in the final period, and took control of the contest from the onset. Hazard was able to make good on their free throws down the stretch, and went on to win by the final count of 58-51.
