Early last week, the Hazard Bulldogs baseball team hosted the South Laurel Cardinals. The Bulldogs struggled with their offense, and gave up the game 0-8 to the Cardinals.


South Laurel got on the board with a run in the second inning. The 1-0 score stood until the sixth inning when the Cardinals struck for five runs. They would then finish off the game with a pair of runs in the seventh inning (8-0).


Hazard would spread four hits throughout the game with no runs. Coby Cumbow went five plus innings with 2 runs, 5 hits and 5 strikeouts. Blake Nidiffer went an inning with 6 hits, 6 runs, 4 walks and 1 strikeout. J. T. Haynes finished the game with a walk and a strikeout.


Hazard (0) Cole Ratliff 1 hit, Coby Cumbow 1 hit, Josh Meehan 1 hit, and Ryan Smith 1 hit.
